Puffco Launches the “New Proxy” – Smarter, Smoother, More Customizable

Puffco has just unveiled its upgraded modular vaporizer: the New Proxy. With refined design, enhanced chamber performance, Bluetooth/app control, and backward compatibility with existing glass, it’s a major refresh to the Proxy lineup.

What’s New & What Stays the Same?

  • Pricing remains the same, with a $250 MSRP price tag.
  • 3D Chamber is upgraded: now taller to reduce water splash, with better flavor preservation
  • Puffco Connect App compatibility is a big new feature. Through the app, users can control temperature, session duration, vapor intensity, and “mood lighting.”
  • ~30% increase in battery capacity: the New Proxy uses a 1,680 mAh / 3.85 V battery versus 1,350 mAh / 3.7 V in the original.
  • Puffco claims optimized settings allow ~15 dabs per charge under standard use.
  • Roughly 2 hours to charge fully, and can be used while charging.
  • All existing Proxy glass and attachments are compatible with the new version!

How Does It Compare to the Original Proxy?

While the New Proxy looks similar to the original design, there’re a few important upgrades worth calling out:

  • The original Proxy did not have Bluetooth/app control; this is a major upgrade for the lineup, allowing for customized rips and potentially more future features.
  • The chamber redesign (a taller 3D chamber) addresses some of the water splash complaints that users had with the original version.
  • Battery upgrade improves performance per rip and improves battery life and longevity.
  • Backward glass compatibility means all attachments that worked with the original also work with the new version.

Early Impressions & Thoughts So Far?

While we haven’t had a chance to test the new version or compare them, early reviews and feedback suggest that the New Proxy doing great. This has been the general sentiment in the week after launch:

  • Better flavor and thicker clouds, especially when using high temps on the app.
  • Refined ergonomics and a sleeker look makes the Proxy look & feel better.
  • Water splash is reduced, thanks to the chamber and default attachment redesign.
  • Puffco’s app responsiveness is generally solid, though as with any Bluetooth-connected device, reliability and latency may vary depending on phone and environment.
  • Battery life under heavy or high-temp use is still the trickiest area; pushing temps aggressively may still cut down the number of full sessions one can get. However, it’s remarkable that such a small device can be so powerful.

How the New Proxy Fits in the Puffco Lineup

For anyone curious or already using a Proxy, the New Proxy is clearly aimed at improving control, flavor, and usability without leaving behind existing accessory ecosystems. It gives users more room to tinker (via the app) while aiming to keep the core experience familiar. If you’re researching what’s best in the E-Rig space or considering a Proxy, this new model is a great choice for portability and power.

If you already own a Proxy, but miss the app functionality and battery life of a Peak Pro, this new model combines the best of both worlds, for an affordable price between the Peak and Peak Pro.
