Encased hand twisted planets, silver fumed plunges, molten splattered sterling silver and a bunch of trial and error!! This mini universe starts as a big thick 25mm rod. The glass rod is heated and pressed into a glass puck. After planets have been made with different twisted colors, they are encased in clear and preheated in the kiln. The glass puck is reheated in one spot and a warmed planet is quickly pressed in the hot glass, this encases the planet deep inside the developing universe. Silver is cut into chips and ground into dust, this is then pressed into the hot puck. The silver balls become small comets and a pinpoint flame is used to aggressively fume the icy trails.
