While chatting with a friend about the recent Sovereignty Sesh in San Diego, the topic of OG Steve pieces came up. I recalled a time back in college where I spent hours digging through internet archives of old Sovereignty listings. I decided to dive back into the wayback machine once again, and found one of the craziest Steve OG collabs I’ve seen.
Back in the early 2010’s, Sovereignty was making a lot of recyclers and collaborating with a handful of different artists, including Arty, Hefe, CRS, and others. On September 19, 2013 this insane Arty x Steve collab recycler was available on Aqua Labs. It has beautiful worked sections scattered all around the piece, and there’s three different sherlocks to match the theme! The perc is a Sherlock with slits, the mouthpiece is a Sherlock, and there’s even a third floating in the center! For a piece made over a decade ago, this is still just as fire today as it was back then.
